First qualifier for Brawl Stars went into the hands of Jazavci!

The ninth season of the A1 Adria League has officially started. The first open qualifiers for the mobile game Brawl Stars are over. We have seen a lot of teams sign up for the qualifiers and their chance to become the best in the region.

As we mentioned already, Brawl Stars this year will have four open qualifiers, where the best 16 teams will be scored. Eight teams with the highest number of points will advance to the group stage. These qualifiers will be played on FACEIT platforms.

Great start for team Jazavci and Dogs

Some teams had a great start to the A1 Adria League while others struggled to get points. However, we have seen great, intense matches in the first open qualifiers from this year’s Brawlers. We have seen more than 30 teams compete for the most points in the first qualifier for Brawl Stars which is 100 points.

Many familiar faces are again participating in A1AL. Many familiar teams from the region that we have seen in the past in our own A1 Adria League are back for more. The first playday was intense and we have seen a couple of surprises. Last year’s Brawl Stars champions Lavvek, DzonDzon, Andrey who had been competing under the Flow banner and are now called Zidari, have failed to qualify for the semifinals. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Dogs who advanced to the finals of this first qualifier. The second finalist were Jazavci, who made their way to the top.

The grand final ended in the favor of team Jazavci who have shown great performance and skill. Of course, team Dogs also sits at a great position with 70 points, and they will have an easier path to the group stage.

Teams that reached the quarterfinals and further will have an advantage in the next qualifier and it’s a nice start to the season.

While the Brawl Stars qualifiers for this week are finished, tomorrow we expect a tense fight between FIFA22 players in the first qualifiers of this PlayStation game.

4glory gets another shot at the A1 Adria League title!

The second invited team for the A1 Adria League Season 9 is 4glory Esports. After finishing the third last season, they will have a new chance to show that they are the best CS:GO team in the Adriatic region. It will be a difficult task but Luka “c0llins” Živanović and co. already showed they can play against the best.

The Serbian roster has been surrounded by high expectations ever since they started playing for 4glory. Soon they became the force to be reckoned with in the Adriatic region. Players like Aleksa “Impulse” Stankić and Dimitrije “DiMKE” Veljković already had major success in the A1 Adria League and have won multiple titles in different rosters. Some of them while playing together.

Luka “c0llins” Živavnović is still putting out some impressive numbers. His 1.16 rating in the past three months is a testimony of his talent, as well as the talent of the roster around him. Altho they lost to BLUEJAYS in the RES Season 2 they claimed many respectable scalps lately as a team. Anonymo, Finest, GamerLegion are amongst the teams that 4glory outplayed in the best of three series. They are coming to win and they will do everything they can to achieve their goal.

CS:GO in the A1 Adria League Season 9

The CS:GO part of the A1 Adria League Season 9 will be played in three phases. The first one is the three open qualifiers played in the single-elimination Bo1 format and the decider matches are the Bo3 series. Top two teams from each qualifier advance to the group stage. Similar to the last season in the group stage teams will be competing in the SWISS format. Again, all the matches will be Bo1, except the deciding ones. In the playoffs, we will see four of the best teams in the Adriatic region battling it out in the single-elimination Bo3 format. There is still time to sing up for the CS:GO qualifiers. As the A1 Adria League is returning so is the oldest game in this tournament – CS:GO. The most popular FPS in the world is back with the ninth A1AL season. CS:GO has been our core game since the beginning of the league, and this year we are giving you another chance to start your CS:GO career and climb to the top.

For the ninth time A1 Adria League is bringing CS:GO into your houses. The time has come to sign up for the qualifiers and test your luck on Inferno, Mirage, Nuke, and others. The qualifiers begin on April 10th when the battle for the best CS:GO regional team commences.

During the years we have seen many players and teams make a name for themselves while playing in A1 Adria League. You all remember Valiance&CO which was the champion in seasons one and two. The team was made out of one of the now best regional CS:GO players who went on and created such great careers. Hunter- and nexa both started their careers in A1AL and now they are playing for some of the most famous teams in the world, competing at the most prestigious CS:GO tournaments there are.

This year’s prize pool for CS:GO is 5,000€ while the best Adriatic team will be awarded 2,500€.

Unlike Brawl Stars and FIFA22, CS:GO will have three Qualifier cups where the top 2 teams from each qualifier will advance to the next stage making it 6 teams in total. Best teams from qualifications will be joined by the two invited teams. They will battle in SWISS group stage for 4 slots in the finals. In the finals, we will have the opportunity to see the best 4 regional CS:GO teams compete for the title in the single-elimination bracket. The matches are Bo1, apart from the decider matches which are going to be Bo3.

The qualifiers for the ninth season of the A1 Adria League are coming sooner than you think, so don’t waste any time and sign up to compete with the best FIFA players in the region. FIFA22 qualifiers will be held at the beginning of the next month, on April 1st, just a day after the Brawl Stars qualifiers.

Become the best FIFA22 player

This is the sixth time we have had this PlayStation game in our own A1 Adria League. FIFA has always been popular and will continue to be something the majority of male players enjoy playing. This game has even been listed in Guinness World Records as the best-selling sports video game franchise in the world. As of 2021, it had been sold in over 325 million copies, and we are bringing you the opportunity to make a name for yourself in the region as the best at this title.

Over the years we have seen players taking home the winning prize, but one name that stands out is amke 2001, who has been the three-time regional champion of FIFA. Esad1memic also won the title once, as did KT Edinho.

The prize pool of FIFA this year is 1750€ and will be distributed to the first three players. The ninth season champion will receive 950€ as an award for his skill and commitment.

FIFA22 will have four Qualifier cups in total, where we will score 16 top players. The best 8 players from qualifiers will advance to the next round and compete in the SWISS group stage. Four out of eight players will be eliminated in the group stage, and finals will have the best 4 players fighting for the crown. Every qualifier is a single-elimination bracket.

Points will be distributed in the following way:

  • First place – 100 points
  • Second place – 70 points
  • Third and fourth place – 50 points
  • Fifth to eight place – 20 points
  • Ninth to sixteenth place – 10 points

The start of the A1 Adria League is just around the corner. Soon every gamer from our region will have a chance to prove themselves in a game of their choosing. The first game in our repertoire is the mobile game Brawl Stars. The qualifiers are already open and you can sign up to test yourself against the best Adriatic Brawlers.

The ninth season of A1 Adria League is bringing Brawls Stars once again, for the fifth time now. This mobile game proved to be more and more successful, so this year we won’t deprive our players of the fun of playing it. As mobile games are getting more and more attention nowadays, a younger community of players is getting even more involved in professional gaming and tournaments.

Over the years we have seen different players and teams winning the title of best Brawl Stars players, from Alpha Elite, Good Game Gold to Flow, and others.

Since this year the league is gonna last not three like before, but two whole months, anyone who joins A1 Adria League will have the chance to win the prize for even less playing time than in the past. The prize pool remains the same as last year, but with emphasis on the winner. The first place will get 1100€, while the rest of the money will be distributed accordingly.

The format for Brawl Stars will remain more or less the same as last year. We have 4 open qualifiers for this game, and it will be played on the FACEIT platform. Each qualifier contains a spot for 128 teams that will be filled with teams and players from eight different countries. The best 16 teams are being scored, while only 8 will advance to the next stage. The SWISS group stage will eliminate half of those teams, and the best 4 will fight in the finals.

Points will be distributed in the following way:

  • First place – 100 points
  • Second place – 70 points
  • Third and fourth place – 50 points
  • Fifth to eight place – 20 points
  • Ninth to sixteenth place – 10 points

Flegma: “A1AL is the stepping stone for talented players”

As we are getting closer to the start of the new A1 Adria League we wanted to give you an insight into what it’s going to be like considering all the changes. We interviewed the project manager of A1AL Leonardo Bujas and talked with him a little about the new changes in format and games, what to expect from the upcoming ninth season, and his expectations of it all.

 

The new season brings many changes. What can we expect from the ninth season of the A1 Adria League?

In the ninth season of A1AL, we can expect a fiercer fight for the top than before due to the change of format and prize pool, as well as more games we are bringing this season. Because of that, we expect more interesting matches on the road to the finals.

Besides the standard games such as CS:GO, Brawl Stars, and FIFA, this year A1 Adria League is bringing four extra games? What influenced this change?

Annually A1AL format so far had four games in two seasons that spread throughout a couple of months. So for this season, we prepared something more interesting and more dynamic. Also by adding more games in the league we are giving a chance to less popular games and players of those games to show that their game deserves more attention and more tournaments.

In addition, with the end of the ninth season, you can expect Gaming Weeks in which we will have tournaments for less famous games in the region.

What changes can we expect in Brawl Stars, FIFA, and CS:GO titles, the ones we have already seen in the league?

The biggest change is the duration of the league, instead of the standard three months per season, the league will last for two months now, while the prize pool will remain the same, with only small distribution changes. So basically the winners get more money for less playing time. We also have small changes in the playoff format of some games, such as the number of qualifier cups, the duration of the SWISS group, and so on.

Is the new season going to bring other changes, except in games?

Considering that the ninth season will be held online, we have made some changes in the distribution of our prize pool in all games. Our intention to divide the prize pool into players or teams has always come from the fact that those players that are coming from other countries can at least cover their travel expenses. But seeing that the league is gonna be held online it just made more sense to award the best, so we have increased the prize for first place.

What are the chances that this year in the ninth or tenth season we have a real LAN final? 

The last couple of finals have been held as a part of the Reboot Online Games Week, and the ninth season will also have an Online Final of the league. This final will be in Osijek during the Panonian Challenge. While the production and content crew will be in the studio, the players will, unfortunately, play from their homes.

However, we hope that in the tenth season we will have a LAN final at the Reboot Infogamer fair. We are already planning the event for the final of the tenth season, hoping COVID restrictions will allow it.

People often mistake Esport Adria for A1 Adria League, but those are two different things. What is the role of Esport Adria in A1AL?

Yes, we often get responses from players like “we are going to play Adria” whether it’s about A1AL or some other tournament that we organize. I am really proud that we get huge support, respect, and participation from the community of regional players.

Esport Adria is a “contractor”, it does everything along with A1 Adria League, while A1 Hrvatska is the owner of the tournament. We create content, work on the website, administer tournaments, discover new talents, all in all, we are responsible for everything good or bad that happens in the league.

In what way do projects like A1 Adria League affect the improvement and growth of the esports scene in the region?

We constantly follow formats and types of competitions in other world leagues and tournaments, and we implement them in A1 Adria League, so everyone who participates can gain experience firsthand.  A1 Adria League can be the stepping stone for every talented person in the region (players, analysts, casters, designers, news writers, producers…)

We have many examples of this, such as players who used to compete in A1 Adria League that now play for the strongest esports teams in the world. Hunter-, nexa, maden, Sacre, and Limit are just a few of the names who used to prove themselves in A1 Adria League. We also have med1cz who worked as an observer and in the production of tournaments who now works for Ubisoft on their Major tournaments.

What are your expectations for the upcoming season?

I am hoping for plenty of “wow” moments, a lot of good plays throughout the season, and a lot of satisfied players and teams. My wish is also a LAN event because I miss hanging out with the players, and everyone from the organization.

We are getting closer to yet another season of the biggest regional tournament A1 Adria League. CS:GO is the oldest game in our tournament, it has been the part of A1 Adria League since its inception. CS:GO is here to stay, and the player has a new opportunity to prove their skill and battle the best teams in the region. The winner will receive a flattering title of Adriatic CS:GO champion, as well as the 2.500€ prize.

This year’s format for CS:GO didn’t go through many changes. There are three open qualifiers, from which a total of 6 teams go into the next stage. Qualified teams will be joined by the 2 invited teams, the best ones from last season. So the group stage is contained with 8 teams. The best four teams from the SWISS group stage will advance to the open finals, where they will fight for the title. Finals are going to be single elimination brackets, so there is no place for mistakes.

Brawl Stars

Brawl Stars, a growing mobile game is becoming more and more popular, in the world and our region. A1 Adria League has been hosting Brawl Stars and its players for four seasons already. The ninth season has Brawl Stars as one of its standard games now, and we cant wait to see who will rise to become the new champion.

Brawl Stars format will have four open qualifiers where we score 16 teams, from which only 8 with the most points will advance to the next stage. The group stage in Brawl Stars is SWISS with BO3/BO5 matches where the best four teams will advance to the finals. Finals are unlike CS:GO, double-elimination brackets. May the best brawler win!

Get ready for the new season of A1 Adria League!

The ninth season lies at the doorsteps, and qualifications for our own A1 Adria League are starting soon. Don’t wait any longer and sign up so you can start competing for the title of being the best in the region. The new season of the most prestigious tournament in our region is bringing something new each year. This year is no exception.

We are adding more games this year, alongside the standard ones, Brawl Stars, CS:GO, and FIFA 22. League of Legends and Clash Royale will also be a part of the ninth season of A1 Adria League, only with a slightly different format. And that’s not all. The best regional players will have an opportunity to compete at two new games, which will for now remain a secret.

The ninth season brings seven games

The previous year was a successful one for A1 Adria League. Fans have had the chance to follow the progress of regional players in different games, and enjoy the league. The fact that A1AL had almost 29.000 watched hours last year, and a whopping number of 463.000 views on YouTube shows that regional esports is growing every day.

For this year and two upcoming seasons, we have made a few changes. Instead of four games, as was mentioned earlier, the ninth season will have seven! The format will remain almost the same for Brawl Stars, CS:GO and FIFA 22 while in the other four games players will have a different experience. League of Legends, Clash Royale, and two mystery games will be held on the weekends with open qualifiers and the finals event.

Popular CS:GO is yet again back. Last year we have seen PORTUGAL win the trophy, beating teams such as iNation and 4Glory, who are at the moment in great form proving this year’s competition won’t be any easier than last year’s. Don’t miss the chance to fight with the best teams in the region!

Last year’s Brawl Star champions were team Flow alongside Lavvek who proved that in the region this mobile game is growing more and more with each successful season. Familiar names in this game, which we have seen last year are Winx Club, Omert4, Lightning Strike, and many others.

FIFA 21 was one of the most interesting games to follow last year. Three-time back-to-back champion Amke has shown once again he is not letting go of the throne that easily. Despite the great effort of esad1memic and brstimir, Amke remained the king of FIFA. However, as the season is on its way, new opportunities to dethrone Amke are opening up, as well the opportunities for the three-time champion to defend his title.

The only MOBA in our A1 Adria League League of Legends waits for the new champion. Last year the trophy fell into the hands of Metamoon who didn’t have an easy job. They defeated Harmony and 49% winrate in order to lift the trophy. Even though Harmony was a better team in the semifinals, Metamoon got their revenge in the finals when they bested their opponents.

What to expect this season?

Besides the seven games we are implementing this season, A1 Adria League is bringing more to the new season. Once again you will be able to enjoy A1 Gaming Weekends. Six of these events will be held between the ninth and tenth season of A1AL, in order to provide more fun and competitions while the offseason lasts. At the A1 Gaming Weekends regional players will be able to enjoy competing with each other in a more relaxing atmosphere.

And last but not least, June will be the month of yet another gaming festival Reboot Online Games Week powered by A1. During this festival, you will be able to find out who are the winners of the upcoming ninth season.

How does gaming on smartphones move the boundaries of esports

Esports was at the beginning limited only to personal computers. With the development of technology, it became possible to compete on consoles, and later on smartphones too. It is exactly the smartphones that in recent years have been moving the boundaries of esports.

Regardless of which research you take into account, gaming on smartphones and tablets, popularly called mobile gaming, is a segment that should grow the fastest. Faster than gaming on personal computers and gaming consoles. Everyone who owns a smartphone is a potential “gamer”. A lot of people today play on their phones and unintentionally make the gamer’s statistics. They play games while traveling or while taking a break from daily activities. Among so many players there are those who compete in mobile games. 

This type of gamer exists in our region too and A1 Adria League is showing that for seasons including at least one mobile game in its tournament. Earlier it was the popular game Clash Royale, and in the eighth season, which was held last year, all the lights of mobile gaming were on Brawl Stars. 

Last summer it was the best domestic Brawl Stars players such as Lavvek, Adry, Andrey, and DzonDzon who represented the region in the Clash of Leagues tournament in Salzburg, in which the best players from five Central European Leagues and regional A1 Adria League participate.

Discussions about whether esports on mobile devices are real esports are long over. Smartphones and tablets are today technically so developed that they can support more demanding games too. Big developers and video game publishers have in mind the potential that mobile gaming has. Riot Games studio which made the ultra-popular League of Legends and VALORANT, also published a mobile version of the most popular MOBA game: League of Legends: Wild Rift. Call of Duty mobile has been available for a while now for everyone who prefers shooting on mobile platforms. 

How can mobile esports help women enter esports?

With the growth of esports, the age boundaries of entering the world of competitive gaming are being moved. Regardless of the game, a lot of them are adapted to the youngest players, who very intuitively, using touchscreen controls can experience competitive gaming. 20 or more years ago to achieve this you needed to have some technical knowledge as well as a very expensive, and sometimes, unavailable device. 

Of course, some of them will in the future play on gaming consoles and personal computers, but will at that point already have experienced something that wasn’t available to the Millenials, not to mention older generations. Of course, mobile esports isn’t only meant for younger players.

Female players still make up a very small percentage of active participants in esports. The most popular tournament for girls is the Women Star League Invitational in-game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang if we look at data on an active number of audience and the number of watched hours.

One of the ways in which we could include more females in the world of esports is exactly mobile esports. You wouldn’t need any special equipment for it, and the community isn’t as defined and exclusive as those when gaming on PCs or consoles.

However, for mobile esports or any kind of mobile gaming, it’s important to have a smartphone. That’s how the best regional Brawl Stars players in the grand finale of Clash of Leagues in LEVEL Up Arena in Salzburg competed on Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G devices which at least gave them an even chance with the best players of other countries. 

When we talk about MOBA or similar games, which are more demanding to both players and devices, it’s important to have a fast response speed so you can run the game without any problems. This was exactly what Xiaomi provided to our guys. What kind of device is needed for the serious competition will depend on the game, and of course on the player. Even the smallest advantage in performance in crucial moments can be decisive.

Mobile gaming and mobile esports are already a part of the gaming industry or better esports industry. It will surely grow in the future, as we are even now raising new generations of gamers, professional or not. 

After two intense maps, PORTUGAL claim the A1 Adria League title!

PORTUGAL outplayed iNation in the grand final of this season of our CS:GO league and won the main prize of 2000€.

Our CS:GO final stage once again featured a single-elimination bracket with four teams in contention for the main prize. iNation, PORTUGAL, 4glory, and the recently announced Marten Gaming faced each other to decide the best Adriatic team of this season. Firstly, PORTUGAL played against 4glory. In their second duel for this season, the Macedonian-majority team once again prevailed and defeated Miloš “dEE” Marčeta’s squad with a 2-1 result.

Next up, iNation were paired up against Marten Gaming. The former recently traveled back from Isreal, where they played in the 13. IESF World Championship, and now they came back to play the A1 Adria League. Marten was a good match for the team, but iNation managed to squeeze past them on both maps (Inferno – 16:14; Dust2 – 16:13). In the third-place decider, Marten Gaming once again lost. This time, they couldn’t overcome the second Serbian team, 4glory Esports.

PORTUGAL started off strong on their map pick – Mirage. 10 rounds on the CT side gave them a good lead heading into the second half. There, they let iNation win five rounds but managed to close out the map without many problems. Inferno was the map pick of iNation and they looked much better on this map. However, PORTUGAL bounced back and brought the game to overtime. After a quadruple overtime match, Blaže “HEv1X” Hristov carried his team to victory and secured the first place for PORTUGAL.
