amke2001 advances to the playoffs stage; Blue Whales manage to beat GG Gold

We are more than halfway through with the Brawl Stars qualifiers. FIFA closed out its second playoffs cup, and just like always, both games showed us the quality of the competitive scene in this region.

Brawl Stars

Over 20 teams signed up for the seventh Brawl Stars qualifier. As we are reaching the end of the qualifiers, the leaderboard is starting to form itself and some of the best names in the region are already up there. One of the things that surprised us the most in this qualifier was that finally, someone other than GG Red was able to take down Good Game’s Gold squad. The team that managed to pull this off were Blue Whales, and they did it in the quarterfinals.

Two newer names, Gamer squad and Ready To Win also reached the quarters with the latter advancing to the semifinals of the qualifier. Code Lyoko bested Ekipa 69 on the road to a match against GG Red, who had just won their match versus Taktika baklava. Blue Whales continued with their awesome form in the semifinal match against Ready To Win as well. Good Game Red breezed past Code Lyoko, and in the Grand Finals managed to avenge Good Game Gold against Blue Whales.

FIFA

Eight players once again faced off for a spot in the main playoffs stage of the League. The four players that managed to go past the SWISS stage were Robert “rob1” Persaj, Djordje “JasikFifa” Cumbo, Tarik “amke2001” Novo, and the reigning champion, Esad “esad1memic” Memić. Stevan Mačkić and PvtMole cast the most interesting playoffs matches and we had the chance to watch a couple of incredible FIFA games throughout the weekend.

The four players that advanced through the SWISS stage met each other in a single-elimination cup. amke2001 faced rob1, while esad1memic played against Jasik. esad1memic and rob1 were eliminated from the tournament after losses to Jasik and esad1memic, respectively. An amazing grand final saw amke2001 become the second grand finalist of the sixth A1 Adria League season. FIFA will be back with the last trio of qualifiers this Saturday, and in the meantime, esad1memic and brstimir can prepare for their opponents.

The second test coming up for GODZ1337 and lvlUP!

CS:GO’s A1 Adria League continued with two interesting matches that saw two Kosovar teams triumph without much difficulties.

Krško opened the second round with a match against eSportsKosova. After a good showing versus Good Game, Tilen “Grmek” Grmek and Krško were destroyed by one of the Kosovar teams in the League. The first half of Dust2 ended 13-2 in favor of Blend “v1w” Bunjaku’s team and the Slovenian-Croatian squad couldn’t win a single round in the second half. Krunoslav “Salted” Katalinić’s Krško weren’t any better on the second map, Inferno, and the team quickly secured a spot in the 0-2 pool. eSportsKosova will now be joining the 1-1 part of the League, together with Good Game.

Jane “aidKiT” Apostoloski’s Macedonian quintet lost the duel versus Blink. The match went to all three maps and after an initial win from Good Game, Blink turned the game around and secured yet another victory. Blink’s pick, Mirage, was a tight map that ended in a victory for Good Game. Both of the teams had really good plays, but in the end, three great plays from GG’s individuals won them the first map. Even though the first map promised a great BO3 series, Blink stomped their opponents in the next two maps. Ernest “xhoci” Xhoci was on fire and together with Genc “gxx-” Kolgeci they dominated the competition.

The second part of the second SWISS round will see two excellent matchups. GODZ1337 meets MiKS (EAGLES) in the first match of the day, and lvlUP will face Shock Bomb immediately after. Tune in and watch the biggest regional esports League on our Twitch channel!

CS:GO Standings 2p1

arminho, Good Game Red claim victories!

After being delayed during the previous week, Brawl Stars was here once again and the seventh qualifier was played out. FIFA finished the second trio of qualifiers, and the second playoffs tournament will start soon.

Brawl Stars

Even after skipping a week, things didn’t change much in Brawl Stars. The Good Game squads once again reached the semifinals and the Red team won the qualifier. Going back to the quarterfinals, Ekipa 69 fell short to Good Game Red, while Zabranjeni lost to the other Good Game team, Gold. Code Lyoko and LovciNaZMajeve, two interesting names that have been playing good during the recent qualifiers faced each other in the quarters. In the end, Code Lyoko bested their opponents and secured one of the four semifinal spots.

Alpha Predators met FA Deadly in the last match of the quarterfinals. The latter managed to slip past the Predators and proceed to the semis. Just like in any other qualifiers, the Good Game teams were destined to meet each other. This time, it happened in the semifinals and the second-placed team, Red, managed to beat the current standings leaders, Good Game Gold.

FIFA

This weekend, we will not be hosting a FIFA qualifier. Instead, the best eight players from the previous qualifiers will once again be a part of the playoffs that will decide which player will advance to the LAN finals. arminho0307 secured the first semifinal spot after he managed to beat mhad10h, while Persunipzs outplayed RUR rob1. HarunNedim1921 and DziDziAnlaki met each other in the quarters, with the Bosnian coming out on top.

The last QF match saw Stojanov1999 and amke2001 clash. Heading into the match, amke was considered the favorite, but Stojanov managed to upset him and proceed to face Harun in the semis. Persunipzs was in great form, but even that wasn’t enough and he couldn’t get past arminho. Stojanov surprisingly advanced to the grand finals, while his opponent, HarunNedim headed into the third-place decider. arminho had a rough start in this trio of qualifiers but won the third edition after all. This week we will see who is the next player to join brstimir in the main FIFA playoffs.

brstimir, FIFA: “When I was losing 0-3 I wanted to forfeit the match”

Miloš “brstimir” Majdevac is the first FIFA player to secure a spot in the LAN finals. He showed a great form throughout the entire season and earned his place fair and square. After an exhausting final against amke2001 in our first playoffs tournament, the Serbian player kindly accepted our invitation to do an interview.

After winning the first two qualifiers, your luck ran out in the third one. Did you slow down a bit, knowing you’ve already secured a spot in the playoffs?

I always give my maximum in every match at any competition. I won the first two qualifiers and got a spot in the playoffs, but luck wasn’t on my side and I failed to reach the final for the third time in a row by ending up in third place.

An intense final match between you and amke2001 made everyone bite their nails. What went through your head when you were losing 0-3 before you made a comeback?

When I was losing 0-3 I paused the game and the only thing that came to my mind was to forfeit the match and leave. However, I decided to stay and try something new with my tactics, which helped me in the end, and I managed to turn the odds in my favor.

Your form is picking up in this season of A1 Adria League as opposed to the last season, which can be seen by your current standing. How much off-season preparations contributed to where you are now?

I think that me being in Greece had a big impact on the way I played in season five. Mostly because my Internet connection wasn’t the best.

You’re the first player who secured a spot at the upcoming LAN event. What will you do now before it starts?

First, I want to take a break from this FIFA season and then turn my focus on university until the next FIFA season starts.

Did any of your rival players surprise you, whether negatively or positively?

I don’t want to mention anyone in particular, everybody played great in season 5 and did the same in this season. They established themselves as serious competitors.

Who do you predict will join you in the LAN finals?

I think that esad1memic or amke2001 will win the next playoffs because, in my opinion, those two have more quality than anyone else.

Considering that everybody is affected by the coronavirus pandemic, are you happy with the organization of a competition?

Given the limited options, the organization is really well managed and I hope that pandemic won’t stop us to come to the LAN event in Zagreb.

We are approaching the first FIFA playoffs cup!

With the third week of qualifiers coming to an end, the list of players for the first FIFA20 playoffs event has been rounded up. Clash Royale started its Group Stage while CS:GO and Brawl Stars are continuing the qualifications road.

Brawl Stars

O9 Gang and FA Deadly once again entered the Top 8 stage of the qualifiers. Code Lyoko and Good Game Red outplayed On-Fire and MysteryWarrioRS, while Electronic Rats managed to get past Taktika baklava. A convincing victory for O9 Gang in their match versus FA Deadly sent the former right into the semifinals. Code Lyoko were destroyed by Good Game Red and Electronic Rats slipped past YouLose to secure a match against ToDe05 and GG Red.

O9 Gang and Electronic Rats earned 60 points each by finishing 3rd-4th. Good Game are absolutely dominating the Brawl Stars qualifiers so far. Once again, we could see the two squads battle it out in the final match of the third qualifier. The Gold team managed to beat Good Game Red and secure yet another 100 points on the leaderboard. We are still at the beginning of the qualifiers and the Good Game squads are already cementing themselves in the first places.

This is the current Brawl Stars leaderboard:

Clash Royale

Clash Royale’s Group Stage started in an interesting fashion. Recast Gaming and Crusher Esports played a wonderful match and at the very end, Neki Lik and Recast Gaming were able to win the game. The organization that won the previous season of A1 Adria League is starting with a loss, but it is still very early into the League, especially with the double round-robin format that is featured in Season 6.

Tribe Academy faced the challenger squad, Team KFC, in the first match. The qualified side didn’t put up much of a fight and Tribe’s players closed out the game after 2v2 and KotH. In the last match of the day, the Flayn Esports’ player Enis singlehandedly beat Totem Esports in the KotH mode and secured the first victory for his team.

FIFA

The first trio of FIFA qualifiers has finished. The best eight players from the previous qualifiers will face off in the playoffs, with the best FIFA20 player securing a spot in the A1 Adria League S6 playoffs. In the third FIFA qualifier, brstimir was able to claim the third-place spot after a great game versus arminho0307.

After two wins for brstimir, it was time for another player to secure the first place. rob1 rose up to the challenge and dominated the competition. amke2001 lost the quarterfinals match to brstimir, but the Serbian player was outplayed by his countryman, rob1. After victories against Hardi and discoL, simke bested arminho0307 in the semifinals. simke didn’t stand a chance in the finals and rob1 was crowned the champion of the third qualifier.

The top 8 players that will be heading into the playoffs are as follows:

CS:GO

The last two qualification cups were played during the weekend. We got eight more teams that will compete for the final three spots in the next closed qualifier. Marko “Maki” Mijatović and GamerS1337 secured one of the spots after a great showing in the third qualifier. Perspektiva and Onlinerss finished the qualifier in the top 4, and the Macedonian side Good Game rounded up the team list.

Two Kosovar teams will be playing the second closed qualifier. MiKS and eSportsKosova bested BMW and qeveriaKURTI in the BO3 quarterfinals. GENGE beat Pavle “stYleEeZ” Stojanovski and nemakajnas while SUNDUS slipped past peek me in the last game of the day. The team list for the upcoming A1 Adria League season will be completed after the second closed qualifier comes to an end.

Kule, PESExpert: “The PES community in our region is really big”

While waiting for the third A1 Gaming Weekend cup to start, we decided to get in touch with the team that will help us organize the tournament and introduce their community to all of you following us. Just as the FBC, the PESExpert guys are constantly helping the players in our region with organizing a big number of tournaments and helping them in the development of their careers. I contacted Kule from PESExpert who was happy to answer my questions and make his community known to even more people.

Hello, Kule, thanks for taking the time to do this interview. Could you introduce the PES Expert community to the broader public? How long have you been developing the PES scene in our region?

The PESExpert community exists for over 10 years now, since 2010 – Playstation 3. It was at that time that the founders saw that Croatia has a lot of players that play the best soccer simulation, PES. Since that moment, a lot has changed, we switched to PS4, there were good and bad editions of PES, but the number of members and followers kept increasing constantly. In 2019, PESExpert split into two groups, with the first (12.igrač) focusing on Full Manual, Master League, and the casual side of the player base. Our community (PESExpert) consists of 15 leagues and over 300 players, some of which are between one of the best in Europe, and we can say that we are more focused on developing the quality of the overall scene. Players from all nationalities are welcomed here and we can proudly say that we are successfully working with members from Serbia, BiH, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Macedonia.

What are some tournaments that you organized in the past? Tell us about the PES Expert 1v1 & 2v2 tournament that boasts a 10.000€ prize pool.

From the bigger tournaments, we have organized the “Lumici Centar” tournament in Varaždin, with 80 players playing 1v1, we organized the Reboot 1v1 & 2v2 tournament with 70 players and we worked with Caffe Boeing, where we managed to organize two cups with a total of 90 players.

Our biggest project to date is happening on the 12th of September in Velika Gorica, the sports center Panadić to be exact. The tournament will have 256 players for the 1v1 part, and 64 2v2 duos. Players are showing massive interest in the tournament, mainly because of its €10.000 prize pool, which is the minimal prize pool and is likely to go up. Except for the main tournament, there will be a theme park for kids and adults and a 3v3 bubble football.

How developed is the PES community in the Adriatic region? Do you see this A1 Gaming Weekend tournament as a chance to even further help the players in their competitive careers? Are you looking forward to a great turn out from the players?

The PES community in our region is really big, with over 20.000 active players, we have Serbia that has the biggest number of players and they are really investing into esports with prizes and also bringing the scene closer to the mainstream media with a lot of leagues. We see this tournament [A1 Gaming Weekend] as a chance to show the people just how many players there are in the region that play PES and that it is really worth it. We also hope that people will recognize our organizational abilities and this project will help the PESExpert staff with further projects.

Do you prefer the LAN competition to the online format we have now because of the worldwide pandemic? Are you looking back to going back to LAN?

Online and offline competitions have a lot of differences, for example, when playing tournaments online, not everyone has a connection of the same quality, and that with the delays from the different TV-s can often be a disadvantage for one of the players. Those problems are nullified in offline competitions and the only things that matter are the mechanical and mental quality and capability of the player and that is why playing on LAN is much more popular in showing the real skill of the player.

Closing out the A1 Gaming Weekend series with PES20!

The A1 Gaming Weekend really helped us pass the time between the regular seasons of A1 Adria League while also helping the scenes of the featured titles grow. After Rainbow Six Siege and Rocket League, it is time to reveal the details surrounding our third game, Pro Evolution Soccer.

The eternal rival to the FIFA franchise, PES is making its debut as a game covered by the A1 Adria League, or in this case, A1 Gaming Weekend. We are really happy to give a chance to the regional PES players, and together with the PESExpert community, we are expecting a great turn out from the players. An interview with one of the members of PESExpert is coming soon, so stay tuned if you want to learn more about this amazing community of players.

Playstation 4 is going to be the featured platform and the best players will split the €500 prize pool accordingly. All the competitors will be split into up to groups, depending on the turnout, with 256 being the maximum number of players allowed to sign up. The group stage will begin at 15 o’clock on the 1st of August, with the best two players of each group advancing to the playoffs. The playoffs will be played on the next day, Sunday and they will be played in a BO3 format, with overtimes and penalties enabled. The matches are set to last 10 minutes each and on Sunday, all the Top 8 matches will be streamed on the A1 Adria League streaming channels.

Trokut Reborned win the first A1 Gaming Weekend cup!

The first A1 Gaming Weekend tournament showed us just how good the regional R6: Siege scene really is. We had the chance to see over 20 teams battling it out for their share of the €650 prize pool. basHYYEE and med1czz further improved the quality of the tournament with a wondeful casting day, and we are grateful to the players and the staff for their efforts in making the first A1 Gaming Weekend cup a big success.

The first A1 Gaming Weekend cup comes to an end after an amazing final!

Most of the teams advanced to the Round of 16 by default, but we were able to see Nerva beat Koper4 and BigW outplay neLos big nose in the first round of the cup. The first match featured on stream was the duel between Judge Knows and Trokut Reborned. After a convincing lead in the beginning by Judge Knows, Trokut were able to turn around the game and win the match in overtime. GASERI and Mendoza were better than Ace7 and GameON Exiles, respectively, while Nerva breezed past TF-141.

The broadcast followed BigW’s one-sided victory against Mendoza in the quarterfinals, while the other match in that side of the bracket saw Trokut secure a spot in the semifinals over GASERI. Slav Team Six and Nerva rounded up the second semifinal matchup as they managed to move past Kerber and Cesta 2 Esport. It took 11 rounds for Nerva to beat Slav Team Six and qualify for the Grand Finals. In the other semifinal, we got the other finalist, and it was no other than Trokut, who continued their phenomenal performance in the match versus BigW.

It was a really fun tournament – lots of familiar faces and ex-teammates, some of which even played in TrokuT. I always love to see great Adria tournaments like this one, it brings the best of us and offers us a chance to improve as well as show what we got individually. But Siege is and always will be a team game, we wouldn’t have won anything without a full roster of fantastic and quality players! HeRi with his insane mechanical skills and top-level fragging, Tekma with the calm and collected game-winning plays on his birthday, Voya with his IGL work showed us various ways to dismantle the enemy defenses, few round winning clutches as well, and Domyy, ex NERVA player that carried us to victory in the first map against them as well as showing up throughout the whole tournament!

I would like to thank them because without them the title would not be possible. We didn’t have much time to practice as we got together 5 days before the tournament started but we used that time well and it paid off. I would also like to thank the casters for their amazing job, A1 for organizing this tournament and great admins and support we got during it! I hope for more of this in the future!

  • SoulSeekeR, Trokut Reborned

The Grand Finals started on Coastline and saw Trokut get a 7-5 victory in the first map of the final match. Kafe Dostoyevsky went even better for the team led by SoulSeekeR and with a 7-1 win, they managed to dominate the competition and secure the grand prize of €350.
