Novo: A1 Adria League is a place where I started my FIFA career

Once again the FIFA champion in A1 Adria League is Tarik “Novo” Novo. He defeated Marko “Mrky2402” Matančić in the finals after five intense matches and took his fourth consecutive title. We talked with Tarik about his title, his expectations, and his impressions, as well as his plans for the future.

First, congratulations on yet another A1 Adria League title. This is your fourth title in a row. What does it feel like to be at the top of the FIFA regional scene for two years now?

Thanks a lot. The feeling is the same as it was in the past seasons. It’s great and I am very proud of this fourth great success.

For the last couple of years, the same players have made the playoffs in A1AL. In which way do you improve and adapt your game in order to win, seeing that you, Brstimir, and Esad know each other well?

I have played many times with Brstimir, and with Esad even more. Because of that, I am familiar with their characteristic moves, but they are familiar with mine as well. It is really hard to play against them and every time I do my best to adapt my gameplay before meeting them.

Mrky made it to the finals in his first A1AL season, and you played all five matches. What is your opinion on your opponent’s gameplay and was it hard to play against him?

All I have to say about Mrky is that he is a great player, and I once again want to congratulate him. He didn’t make it to the top 4 for no reason. Playing against Mrky was very challenging, I think this FIFA suits him well.

You started the group stage with a 0:2 score and secured the playoff spot in the last round of the group stage. Did you make some changes in the playoff, and how do you explain your performance in the group stage, and in the playoffs?

In the group stage, I didn’t have the team I wanted to play with, and I think that’s the main reason for the bad performance. Namely, I have made the team for the playoffs, and it paid off.

Did you expect to win this title, and will you compete in the 10th season in A1 Adria League as well?

I can’t say that I expected the title, but I was definitely looking forward to it and I gave my best to lift the trophy. A1 Adria League is a place where I started my FIFA career and it is very important to me. Because of that, I will sign up again because it’s a competition where I feel the most comfortable in.

What are your plans right now?

After plenty of competitions I played in the past few months, my plans for the summer are to rest and slowly start preparing for autumn and new tournaments, and hopefully new accomplishments.

Novo is FIFA champion for the fourth time in a row!

FIFA22 championship this year in A1 Adria League was as intense as ever. In the group stage, it seemed as though the king of FIFA Tarik Novo won’t be able to secure the playoff. But he did it in the last round, and in the playoffs dominated everyone in his path, winning his fourth consecutive title.

Novo – The undisputed A1AL champion

Whoever comes to challenge Novo in A1 Adria League goes home empty-handed. History repeated itself this season, as we have seen Tarik Novo win the title once again. Even though the Bosnian struggled throughout the group stage, he showed impeccable performance in the playoffs.

In the semifinals, Tarik was against the rookie player Mrky, while Esad had to defeat brstimir. The winners of the semifinals were Novo and brstimir who went on to fight in the upper bracket final, while Esad and Mrky fell down to the lower bracket. Novo had no problem defeating the Serbian player, and he did it with a 2:0 score. This led Novo to the grand finals where he waited for his opponent.

In the lower bracket the first match was played between Esad and Mrky, and Mrky was the one to go into the next stage of the competition, or the lower bracket final. Esad “esad1memic” Memić with this defeat was eliminated and finished the competition as fourth. In the lower bracket final the rookie of the season Marko “Mrky” Matančić defeated brstimir and made a big upset, seeing that brstimir was a huge favorite in this matchup. Miloš “brstimir” Majdevac with the loss in the lower bracket final took third place.

The biggest surprise of the season Mrky had now reached the grand final and was about to go head to head with the three-time champion Novo. The matches were Bo5 and it was as intense as ever. Both players gave their best and never wavered. The final went to game 5, and in the end, the Bosnian player was just too good to be defeated. He justified the role of favorite, defended the title once again, and took his fourth in a row in the A1 Adria League.

  1. Tarik “Novo” Novo – 950€
  2. Marko “mrky2402” Matančić – 500€
  3. Miloš “brstimir” Majdevac – 300€

Pecho took down amke2001 in the final FIFA22 qualifier!

The most dramatic FIFA22 qualifier is completed. After four qualifiers the best eight FIFA22 players of this season will enter A1 Adria League and compete in the SWISS group stage. Pecho was the one who came out victorious after the last qualifier, which also provided him the first place overall.

Pecho bested the three-time champion

Knowing that a win today might put anyone in the top 8, slots were full once again! The fact that nobody managed to secure their spot until the last qualifier got every single player to shift into their upper gear, which ended in the most dramatic FIFA qualifier we have seen in recent years.

The surprise of the day was the relegation of the two experienced and well-known players Miloš “brstimir” Majdevac and Esad “esad1memic” Memic. They didn’t manage to get past round 3 today, but luckily they had already gathered enough points from previous qualifiers, to secure their spot in the group stage. The rookie Karlo “Jero” Jerkin went only one step more through the bracket and also secured himself some screen time in the next stage of A1AL. Another rookie from these qualifiers Zizou who came on top in the second qualifier, unfortunately, didn’t have enough points to secure the group stage.

Our three-time champion Tarik “amke2001” Novo took this qualifier more seriously than those before. He cruised through the bottom side of the bracket with ease. Just like it was expected from him from the start of the new season. His enemy in the final would be Petar “Pecho” Susnjar who dominated the other side of the bracket.

Even before the final started, both players had reached enough points to secure first and second place, so they focused on making a statement for the future. Amke2001 took down the first match, while Pecho clutched in the 120. minute in the second game of the finals. The third game was a dominant one for Pecho who didn’t let amke2001 score once, ending the match with an easy 2:0 win.

FIFA22 last qualifier standings

In the end, all the players who were expected to win and ensure their place in the group stage did. It was a very close and intense competition from the start, which can be seen in the final standings.

The players will take a short deserved break after such fierce battles, and prepare for the group stage which will commence on May 6th.

New player Zizou is the winner of the second FIFA22 qualifier!

We are halfway done with FIFA22 qualifiers. The matches are always more than interesting, as we have shown so far. The same will be for the remaining two qualifiers where the best regional FIFA players will battle for a spot in the group stage of our A1 Adria League. Some of the players have already shown commitment and desire to enter the league but it remains to be seen who will succeed in the end.

Zizou defeated the three-time champion amke2001

The last week we have seen Esad “esad1memic” Memic winning the first qualifier and taking the most point. He didn’t manage to repeat his success this Friday and ended his path in the second round of the tournament. He was not able to find a way to beat Marko “mrky2402” Matancic. Unfortunately, Mrky also got relegated one round after. While Nick “Nh_Panic87” Holste cruised through the bottom side of the bracket. But who else would stop him if not our three-time champion Tarik “amke2001” Novo, who got 5 goals past Nick’s goalkeeper in 2 games.

The upper side of the bracket was mainly dominated by Croatian players. This is the first time for Croats to show this level of domination in the A1 Adria League qualifier. As Karlo “jero” Jerekin last week beat some of the known FIFA players in his first-ever qualifier in A1 Adria League, Luka “Zizou” Simunac replicated his success and reached the finals for the first time too in our League.

He fearlessly entered the first match against amke2001 and got his first well-deserved win 3-2, putting him 1-0 in the best of 3 series. The second game was a cautious one for both players, but in the end, Tarik “amke2001” Novo came out victorious scoring in extra time. Tarik furiously opened the decider match scoring right after kick-off. But Luka came back and secured another extra time after a 2-2 score in 90 minutes. But this time he was superior in extra time and secured 100 points winning 4-2 in the decider match.

In the end, amke2001 redeemed himself for the first qualifier, while another rookie showed how this season’s fight for the FIFA trophy will be a close one.FIFA22 qualifier standings

Esad1memic takes the first FIFA 22 qualifier

The first FIFA 22 qualifier for the ninth season of the A1 Adria League is finished. It’s just first out of four qualifiers which means there is still enough time to earn those valuable points and qualify for the group stage. The bracket for the first qualifier was full with 64 players trying to secure their spot in the League. Just a reminder in case you missed it. Every qualifier is open for sign up and the top 16 players earn points.

Esad1memic shines, amke2001 out in the first round

The three-time champion Tarik “amke2001” Novo had a rough start in the first qualifier. He shockingly lost in the first round to Marko “mrky2402” Matančić. Luck wasn’t on mrky’s side and he was stopped by Armin “arminho” Hasanbegović in the third round. After the win against mrky, arminho was cruising through the competition until reaching the semifinals. Esad “esad1memic” Memić was too strong of an opponent. Both players know each other pretty well and this time esad1memic was better. On the other side of the bracket, we had the biggest surprise of the first qualifier.  Karlo “jero” Jerekin managed to beat some well-known names to reach the grand finals of the first qualifier in his first appearance in the A1 Adria League. He is a part of FIFA Balkan Community for some time now but just this year he decided to compete in the League.

The grand finals kicked off in an amazing way. Esad1memic had a 2-0 lead but jero managed to claw his way out of it and take the game into extra time but it wasn’t enough. Esad1memic managed to close it out 5-3. The second game also went into extra time after 2-2 during the first 90 minutes. Similar to the first game, esad1memic being the more experienced player, managed to win by scoring another goal in extra time.

Alongside jero, we saw Enes “Encika” Hodžić and Andrija Kodžoman win 20 points in their first qualifier as well.
