LEAGUE OF LEGENDS

League of Legends (LoL) is a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) developed and published by Riot Games, released in 2009. In the game, two teams of five players compete to destroy the opposing team’s Nexus, navigating lanes, securing objectives, and coordinating team fights. With over 160 champions, each with unique abilities and playstyles, combined with a complex item and strategy system, League of Legends offers a highly competitive and skill-intensive gameplay experience.

A1 ADRIA LEAGUE

League of Legends has been a staple of the A1 Adria League, showcasing some of the region’s top MOBA talent and contributing to the development of local esports infrastructure. Its inclusion in the league provided players with opportunities to compete in structured, high-level environments, further fostering teamwork, strategic thinking, and individual skill. League of Legends’ long-standing presence in the A1 Adria League has reinforced the title’s status as a premier competitive game within the Adriatic esports ecosystem.

TOURNAMENTS

A1 STUDENT eCHALLENGE – S7 & S8

League of Legends brings strategic depth and team-focused gameplay to the A1 Student eChallenge, making it one of the most engaging titles in the student competition. With its emphasis on coordination, map control, and decision-making, LoL challenges teams to work together and adapt in fast-paced, high-pressure matches.

Within A1SeC, university teams have the opportunity to compete in an organized environment, gaining valuable experience against other skilled players while developing their communication and teamwork. Whether aiming to improve or take the first step toward competitive play, League of Legends provides a strong foundation for growth within the esports scene.

TWO NEW SEASONS AND PRIZE POOL

In 2026, League of Legends will be featured in both Season 7 and Season 8 of the A1 Student eChallenge, contributing to the total prize pool of 2250€.

DATES & FORMAT

The League of Legends tournament begins with two open qualifiers, where teams compete in a single-elimination bracket played in BO3 matches, with a BO5 decider. The top four teams from each qualifier advance to the group stage.

The group stage features two groups of four teams competing in a round-robin format with BO1 matches. The top two teams from each group move on to the playoffs.

The final stage is played over two days in a single-elimination bracket, with all matches in BO3 format to determine the champions.

Rules

The following document outlines the rules of the competition that should be followed by all of the A1 Adria League and A1 Student eChallenge participants. Breaking the rules will result in a penalty outlined in the rulebook.

Please note that the tournament administration always has the final say and may adjust or modify the rules in specific situations to ensure fair play and sportsmanship.
