Get ready for the new season of A1 Adria League!

The ninth season lies at the doorsteps, and qualifications for our own A1 Adria League are starting soon. Don’t wait any longer and sign up so you can start competing for the title of being the best in the region. The new season of the most prestigious tournament in our region is bringing something new each year. This year is no exception.

We are adding more games this year, alongside the standard ones, Brawl Stars, CS:GO, and FIFA 22. League of Legends and Clash Royale will also be a part of the ninth season of A1 Adria League, only with a slightly different format. And that’s not all. The best regional players will have an opportunity to compete at two new games, which will for now remain a secret.

The ninth season brings seven games

The previous year was a successful one for A1 Adria League. Fans have had the chance to follow the progress of regional players in different games, and enjoy the league. The fact that A1AL had almost 29.000 watched hours last year, and a whopping number of 463.000 views on YouTube shows that regional esports is growing every day.

For this year and two upcoming seasons, we have made a few changes. Instead of four games, as was mentioned earlier, the ninth season will have seven! The format will remain almost the same for Brawl Stars, CS:GO and FIFA 22 while in the other four games players will have a different experience. League of Legends, Clash Royale, and two mystery games will be held on the weekends with open qualifiers and the finals event.

A1 Adria League seven games

Popular CS:GO is yet again back. Last year we have seen PORTUGAL win the trophy, beating teams such as iNation and 4Glory, who are at the moment in great form proving this year’s competition won’t be any easier than last year’s. Don’t miss the chance to fight with the best teams in the region!

Last year’s Brawl Star champions were team Flow alongside Lavvek who proved that in the region this mobile game is growing more and more with each successful season. Familiar names in this game, which we have seen last year are Winx Club, Omert4, Lightning Strike, and many others.

FIFA 21 was one of the most interesting games to follow last year. Three-time back-to-back champion Amke has shown once again he is not letting go of the throne that easily. Despite the great effort of esad1memic and brstimir, Amke remained the king of FIFA. However, as the season is on its way, new opportunities to dethrone Amke are opening up, as well the opportunities for the three-time champion to defend his title.

The only MOBA in our A1 Adria League League of Legends waits for the new champion. Last year the trophy fell into the hands of Metamoon who didn’t have an easy job. They defeated Harmony and 49% winrate in order to lift the trophy. Even though Harmony was a better team in the semifinals, Metamoon got their revenge in the finals when they bested their opponents.

Besides the seven games we are implementing this season, A1 Adria League is bringing more to the new season. Once again you will be able to enjoy A1 Gaming Weekends. Six of these events will be held between the ninth and tenth season of A1AL, in order to provide more fun and competitions while the offseason lasts. At the A1 Gaming Weekends regional players will be able to enjoy competing with each other in a more relaxing atmosphere.

From A1 Adria League to the biggest tournaments in the world

Throughout eight seasons of A1 Adria League (A1AL), we had the opportunity to see some of the biggest regional talents in esports. The fact that goes in favor of this is that some of them had the chance to work or play on some of the biggest esports tournaments in the world. As there are too many of them we can’t fit them all, so we singled out the most successful ones.

Four years and eight seasons of A1 Adria League

It’s been four years since the first season of the A1 Adria League, at that time called Vip Adria League. Since the beginning, a lot of things have changed. However, the help in the development and establishment of domestic esports players has always remained the same. It wasn’t just the players who were gaining a valuable platform for competing and experience throughout the league, but also those who had the opportunity to work on this project. The image of regional esports wouldn’t be the same today without one of the most long-lived leagues.

Thousands of players played countless matches in order to obtain the flattering title of best in the region. Some of them have made impressive careers.

Valiance&CO – the legendary roster

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is the game that has been a part of A1 Adria Leagues since season one. One of the teams which marked this league since the beginning is Valiance&CO, champions of the first two seasons. Even though Valiance&CO have won the league with slightly different rosters, the core of this team remained the same. nexa, huNter-, emi and LETN1 did that miracle run with CR4ZY at StarLadder Major in Berlin, while Impulse kept dominating the regional CS:GO scene for years to come.

Duo players Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač, who won the league two times, and Nemanja “nexa” Isaković who joined the team before the second title, also used to play together in G2 Esports – one of the top five CS:GO teams in the world! They split ways in their recent careers with nexa joining the ranks of OG, while huNter- stayed with NiKO in a refreshed G2 lineup featuring m0NESY and aleksib – competing at both the Intel Extreme Masters tournament in Köln and IEM Katowice in Poland.

Besides them, we have to mention Pavle “maden” Bošković who starred in A1 Adria League playing for teams like UltiCoin and Ripple Esports. After a few years with the FPX core, he moved on to compete under the ENCE’s banner. ex-BLINK with different rosters and by various names also participated in the league. Today the four members Sener “SENER1” Mahmuti, Flatro “juanflatroo” Halimi, Dionis “sinnopsyy” Budeci, and Genc “gxx-” Kolgeci are in the top 50 teams in the world, currently looking for organization to represent.

The KlikTech journey

From the champions in the first two seasons in the A1 Adria League in League of Legends, you could probably make a respectable European team.

Toni “Sacre” Sabalić and Aljoša “Milica” Kovandžić, players of the now legendary KlikTech, after great regional success, have found their way to the League of Legends European Championship, the strongest European league in this esports. They were part of the team which surprised the whole European LoL scene qualifying to top eight of European Masters in 2018. Regional representatives had only one better performance in this tournament since its inception. ASUS ROG ELITE was the better team, who in order to win the second season of the league had to beat KlikTech, mentioned earlier. Dino “LIMIT” Tot played for ASUS that year, and today he is a BDS player in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC).

World success isn’t reserved only for players

It wasn’t only the players that made it to the top of world esports. A lot of people who were during the years working on the realization of A1 Adria League now still work in esports and on some of the biggest tournaments. They are rarely spoken of, but their success isn’t any less valuable, and they are equally important for the growth and development of regional esports. One of them is Ante “med1cz” Medić. In A1 Adria League he was an observer, and you could also see him commentating on some of the matches. Today he works for Ubisoft, as an official observer and in-game director of the biggest Rainbow Six Siege tournaments. He worked on the broadcast of the biggest R6 esports tournaments, including Six Invitational in Montreal and Paris, as well as Six Mexico Major.

How does gaming on smartphones move the boundaries of esports

Esports was at the beginning limited only to personal computers. With the development of technology, it became possible to compete on consoles, and later on smartphones too. It is exactly the smartphones that in recent years have been moving the boundaries of esports.

Regardless of which research you take into account, gaming on smartphones and tablets, popularly called mobile gaming, is a segment that should grow the fastest. Faster than gaming on personal computers and gaming consoles. Everyone who owns a smartphone is a potential “gamer”. A lot of people today play on their phones and unintentionally make the gamer’s statistics. They play games while traveling or while taking a break from daily activities. Among so many players there are those who compete in mobile games.

This type of gamer exists in our region too and A1 Adria League is showing that for seasons including at least one mobile game in its tournament. Earlier it was the popular game Clash Royale, and in the eighth season, which was held last year, all the lights of mobile gaming were on Brawl Stars

Last summer it was the best domestic Brawl Stars players such as Lavvek, Adry, Andrey, and DzonDzon who represented the region in the Clash of Leagues tournament in Salzburg, in which the best players from five Central European Leagues and regional A1 Adria League participate.

clash of leagues mobile esports

Discussions about whether esports on mobile devices are real esports are long over. Smartphones and tablets are today technically so developed that they can support more demanding games too. Big developers and video game publishers have in mind the potential that mobile gaming has. Riot Games studio which made the ultra-popular League of Legends and VALORANT, also published a mobile version of the most popular MOBA game: League of Legends: Wild Rift. Call of Duty mobile has been available for a while now for everyone who prefers shooting on mobile platforms.

How can mobile esports help women enter esports?

With the growth of esports, the age boundaries of entering the world of competitive gaming are being moved. Regardless of the game, a lot of them are adapted to the youngest players, who very intuitively, using touchscreen controls can experience competitive gaming. 20 or more years ago to achieve this you needed to have some technical knowledge as well as a very expensive, and sometimes, unavailable device.

Of course, some of them will in the future play on gaming consoles and personal computers, but will at that point already have experienced something that wasn’t available to the Millenials, not to mention older generations. Of course, mobile esports isn’t only meant for younger players.

Female players still make up a very small percentage of active participants in esports. The most popular tournament for girls is the Women Star League Invitational in-game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang if we look at data on an active number of audience and the number of watched hours.

One of the ways in which we could include more females in the world of esports is exactly mobile esports. You wouldn’t need any special equipment for it, and the community isn’t as defined and exclusive as those when gaming on PCs or consoles.

Woman Star League

However, for mobile esports or any kind of mobile gaming, it’s important to have a smartphone. That’s how the best regional Brawl Stars players in the grand finale of Clash of Leagues in LEVEL Up Arena in Salzburg competed on Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G devices which at least gave them an even chance with the best players of other countries.

When we talk about MOBA or similar games, which are more demanding to both players and devices, it’s important to have a fast response speed so you can run the game without any problems. This was exactly what Xiaomi provided to our guys. What kind of device is needed for the serious competition will depend on the game, and of course on the player. Even the smallest advantage in performance in crucial moments can be decisive.

Mobile gaming and mobile esports are already a part of the gaming industry or better esports industry. It will surely grow in the future, as we are even now raising new generations of gamers, professional or not.

After two intense maps, PORTUGAL claim the A1 Adria League title!

PORTUGAL outplayed iNation in the grand final of this season of our CS:GO league and won the main prize of 2000€.

Our CS:GO final stage once again featured a single-elimination bracket with four teams in contention for the main prize. iNation, PORTUGAL, 4glory, and the recently announced Marten Gaming faced each other to decide the best Adriatic team of this season. Firstly, PORTUGAL played against 4glory. In their second duel for this season, the Macedonian-majority team once again prevailed and defeated Miloš “dEE” Marčeta’s squad with a 2-1 result.

Next up, iNation were paired up against Marten Gaming. The former recently traveled back from Isreal, where they played in the 13. IESF World Championship, and now they came back to play the A1 Adria League. Marten was a good match for the team, but iNation managed to squeeze past them on both maps (Inferno – 16:14; Dust2 – 16:13). In the third-place decider, Marten Gaming once again lost. This time, they couldn’t overcome the second Serbian team, 4glory Esports.

PORTUGAL started off strong on their map pick – Mirage. 10 rounds on the CT side gave them a good lead heading into the second half. There, they let iNation win five rounds but managed to close out the map without many problems. Inferno was the map pick of iNation and they looked much better on this map. However, PORTUGAL bounced back and brought the game to overtime. After a quadruple overtime match, Blaže “HEv1X” Hristov carried his team to victory and secured the first place for PORTUGAL.

CSGO Playoffs

The final CS:GO standings:

1. PORTUGAL – 2000€
2. rs iNation – 1500€
3. rs 4glory Esports – 1000€
4. Marten Gaming – 500€

Metamoon are your A1 Adria League LoL champions!

In the final two matches of this season, Metamoon came out on top and outplayed both 49% winrate and Harmony to win the main prize.

As the double-elimination League of Legends bracket has been slowly progressing throughout the season, only two matches remained for today. The matches in question were the lower-bracket final and of course, the grand finals. Since 49% winrate outplayed Clouded Leopards in the previous round, they were set to challenge Metamoon for a spot in the finals. 49% winrate didn’t weren’t in a good form today, so Metamoon had an easy time in the lower-bracket finals (2-0).

This win put Harmony and Metamoon in the final match. The two teams played each other a week ago when the Macedonian side was better in the upper-bracket finals. This time, however, Metamoon was clearly the better team. Harmony couldn’t win a single game, and the result was 3-1 only because they came from the upper bracket. After losing to Split Raiders in the last season, this is the second consecutive season that Harmony finish the season in second place. We are happy to conclude one more League of Legends tournament for this year. Congratulations to every team that participated and especially to Metamoon, who are your A1 Adria League LoL champions!

League of Legends Playoffs

These are the top 4 League of Legends teams for the season:

1. Metamoon – €1600
2. Harmony – €1200
3. 49% winrate – €800
4. Clouded Leopards – €400

For the third time in a row, amke2001 is the A1AL champion!

The two-day-long FIFA playoffs culminated with an incredible final in which Tarik “amke2001” Novo became the three-time A1 Adria League champion.

During Season 8 of the A1 Adria League, the regional FIFA players had the chance to play against each other in two titles – FIFA21 and FIFA22. The four players that managed to adapt to the newest iteration of FIFA the best were the four players who advanced to the League. After a great SWISS stage Miloš “brstimir” Majdevac, Esad “esad1memic” Memić, Haris “Flow.edenn95” Lukomirak, and Tarik “amke2001” Novo spent the last two days competing in the double-elimination bracket.

Day 1 saw the first three matches played out. Namely, amke2001 and brstimir clashed in an intense match that went to all three rounds and saw the Bosnian player come out on top. After that, esad1memic breezed past Flow.edenn, which put the latter in the lower bracket alongside brstimir. The first day concluded with this elimination match in which Flow.edenn was outplayed by brstimir and eliminated from the tournament.

Today, amke2001 continued his winning streak. In the upper final, our back-to-back champion fought back versus esad1memic and sent him down to the lower half of the bracket. There, brstimir continued his mission of coming back from the brink of elimination and threw the Bosnian star out of the competition. Only two remained – amke2001 and brstimir. Brstimir had the chance to complete his comeback and finally dethrone amke2001, but the latter’s stellar performance in the grand finals secured him his third consecutive A1 Adria League title.

FIFA22 Playoffs

The FIFA playoffs standings:

1. amke2001 – €750
2. brstimir – €500
3. esad1memic – €300
4. Flow.edenn – €200

Marten to replace BLUEJAYS in the CS:GO playoffs!

Instead of BLUEJAYS, it will be Marten Gaming who will try to claim the throne in the final playday of this CS:GO season.

Yesterday, one of the A1 Adria League participants managed to accomplish a great feat on the international CS:GO scene. Namely, BLUEJAYS, a team consisting of players that have been a part of the A1 Adria League for years won the 13. IESF World Championship. The tournament is one of the rare ones nowadays that incorporate a country-based system in the format. National squads from all over the world traveled to Eliat, Israel to try to claim the World Champions’ title on LAN. Team Serbia, Kosovo, and Macedonia represented the region in Israel, and Macedonia managed to claim the title after a dominant win against Romania in the grand finals.

Unfortunately, scheduling conflicts between the two tournaments will make it impossible for BLUEJAYS to attend the CS:GO playoffs. Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski and his team qualified for the playoffs in Round 4 and unlike iNation, their traveling schedule won’t let them arrive in time for the final stage. Instead of BLUEJAYS, a chance to win the main A1 Adria League S8 prize will be given to Marten Gaming. The Bosnian-majority roster has been a force not to be reckoned with in recent times, so it will be a joy to watch them play the playoffs bracket.

The CS:GO playoffs will be played on Sunday, as a part of the last Reboot Online Games Week day. Four teams – Marten, 4glory, iNation and PORTUGAL will fight for a prize pool of €5.000 and the title of the best team in the Adriatic region. What do you think, who will become the new CS:GO champion?

Lavvek & Flow are the new regional Brawl Stars champions!

After a flawless SWISS stage, the Salada de Frutas roster playing under Flow secured their well-deserved A1 Adria League Brawl Stars title.

Our first Reboot Online Games Week day was a BLAST. Both the segments during the day and the Brawl Stars playoffs provided our followers with plenty of entertainment and we have now crowned our Season 8 Brawl Stars champions. The four most successful teams of the regular season advanced to the double-elimination bracket we watched today. Flow (formerly known as Salada de Frutas) were the clear favorites heading into today’s matches, and they didn’t fail to disappoint. Flow and Winx Club started out the bracket with clean sweeps versus Lightning Strike and Omert4, respectively.

In the following elimination match, Omert4 succeeded in throwing Lightning Strike out of the tournament. Meanwhile, the biggest derby of the season saw Winx fall short to Flow in a nail-biting upper-bracket final (2-3). While Winx lost the upper final, they managed to climb back at the expense of Omerta and challenge Flow again. If the previous match was a nail-biter, we can’t find enough words to describe the grand final. With a lead of 2-0 against the clear favorites, only a single win separated Winx from the champion’s title. However, Lavvek finally did it! A massive comeback happened in the remainder of the game and on Brawl Ball, Flow claimed what was theirs since the beginning – the A1 Adria League title.

Brawl Stars Playoffs

The final Brawl Stars standings for the season:

1. Flow – €900
2. Winx Club – €600
3. Omert4 – €300
4. Lightning Strike – €200

GAMERS FOR KIARA; Tune in for a good cause!

Probably the most important segment of this season’s Reboot Online Games Week will be the humanitarian one, dedicated to helping Kiara Goršić.

Kiara Goršić is a seven-year-old. Unfortunately, a tragedy recently struck her and her family. Namely, Kiara was diagnosed with a form of brain tumor. It is a grade IV diffuse glioma of the midline. Croatia and Europe cannot do much about this, so the best hope for Kiara is a clinical study in the United States that is conducting a clinical trial with a new drug, ONC201. This new drug has no side effects like the other methods and is the best option for young Kiara, according to the family’s oncologist.

“The doctor told us that she would also make an MRI, but as a last resort because no one thought that a six-year-old girl would be endangered by something like that. We were helped a lot by my husband’s sister who works at the hospital so we got an MRI as soon as possible.

Then followed that unfortunate 29.7. when she went for the magnet. You already get a worm of suspicion because it was said that it would take 20 minutes, and you see that the time has been greatly exceeded. After the scanning ended and when I walked out of that room with her, the radiologist just looked down at the floor. That’s when I knew right away that something was wrong. The moment he utters ‘unfortunately, the results not good’, when you hear that, your legs are cut off and the whole world and life no longer make any sense.” – Kiara’s mother Matea told a Croatian portal.

A1 Adria League is here to help Kiara as much as we can. A part of Reboot Online Games Week will be dedicated to helping this adorable child overcome this huge challenge in her life. While other segments of the event will also have the goal of collecting the needed money, “Humanitarka” will be a segment that will focus entirely on that mission. Personalities from the region will compete in modified game modes of three games and in the meantime, the collected money will be donated to Kiara. The games will be VALORANT, Rocket League and CS:GO.

There are a couple of ways to help Kiara. A crowdfunding campaign was recently started and can be visited by clicking HERE. A Facebook page is available HERE for all new information. Depending on your residing country, you can donate money for Kiara via these methods:
