A1 Adria League Week 2 Recap

Things are slowly getting up to speed in Season 15 of the A1 Adria League. Over the past weekend, we saw competitions continue in Brawl Stars, CS2 and EA FC Mobile. In the three games, we saw upsets, ninja defuses, and an absence of notable players and teams in Brawl Stars, further signaling that this might be a stranger season than we’ve anticipated.

Brawl Stars

Well-known teams CMM and YDS were not a part of the final matches this time around, which is surprising, given that the teams have some of the best players in the region. In their absence, lesser-known teams took the spotlight, with La Passion and Crazy Bears emerging as the top teams in their respective sides of the bracket. Both teams performed well in the semi-finals and won their matches 2:0. The final went to Crazy Bears, who won it with another clean 2:0 victory. However, anyone watching would tell you that the matches were incredibly close all the way through to the finals, and the one-sided scores do not tell the whole story. Brawl Stars is shaping up to be a very interesting tournament this season, but we still have two more qualifiers where the favourites have time to shine.

EA FC Mobile

The mobile football simulator once again brought excitement, with Grga returning after being knocked out in the quarter-finals on the first matchday. Nikolas, however, failed to reach the final stages of the day and ended up tied at fifth place with Ožegović, Simply and Aco. In the finals, Grga won against Mahir in a game that went all the way to five matches. The EA FC Mobile seems to look very unpredictable at the moment, and if the trend continues we might see some interesting playoff seeds.

Counter-Strike 2

In CS, we saw great plays and plenty of last-second ninja defuses. Ronin5 had the best run this time around and managed to grab the first spot in the qualifier after beating Komado Dragons, Superior Esports and underdox to secure their spot in the playoffs. Interestingly, Ronin5 had three last-moment defuses on Ancient in their match against underdox, which cost underdox the win. In a strange turn of events, KReatin won their first two matches, but just as they were about to face ONYX in the decider, ONYX forfeited the match, sending Kreatin into the playoffs. To make matters even more interesting, ONYX then climbed back and beat underdox to get the last playoff spot.

In the end, it was a strange, unpredictable and very amusing day of Counter-Strike – and there’s still more qualifiers to be played, which means plenty of chance for you to apply and compete in this season. Make sure to do so through the official website!
