A1 Adria League Season 15 Week 1: Let’s get going!

We’re so back. The last weekend saw the first matches of Season 15 take place in four games, and we can now officially say that Season 15 of the A1 Adria League is underway! There are tons of matches ahead of us, but if the first rounds of qualifiers are anything to go by, we’ll have quite a season ahead of us. Between Friday and Sunday, more than 500 players applied for the open qualifiers in Brawl Stars, EA FC Mobile, Counter-Strike 2 and EA FC 26, a game that launched just a couple of weeks ago.

You still have plenty of time to apply solo or with your teammates for the qualifiers, so don’t miss your chance to compete against some of the best regional players! Each game has its own format of qualifiers and playoffs, so make sure to follow the rules and get informed on what’s heading your way.

Brawl Stars: Big Changes Ahead?

In the A1 Adria League, we’ve come to expect great things from several regional players, and we must admit that surprises in the first round of qualifiers were not on our bingo card this time around. Instead of seeing YDS and CMM dominate the brackets, we saw the emergence of a new team called The Lethal Force. TLF shocked everyone by upsetting CMM, last season’s winners, in the semifinals. To make matters even better, they won the qualifier final against YDS, another regional powerhouse, and claimed the number one seed in Brawl Stars like it’s nothing. Of course, there is still a lot of time for everyone to bounce back, but seeing fresh faces stomp their way through the qualifier did put a smile on our faces.

EA FC Mobile: Dannci dominates

With each competition, the EA FC Mobile tournament is attracting more players from the region, and this time was not different. The qualifiers in this intense mobile football simulator were tense and quick, and after a series of matches to decide the best players out of the dozens that applied, we were left with the best eight players for the first round of qualifiers.

With the game being more dynamic and shorter than the “regular” EA FC, we saw golden goals and quick wins aplenty. Some of the highlights include a great series by Dannci, who put up a great performance to win the qualifier, and a great upset from Luka, who eliminated Nikolas, a previous finalist of the A1 Adria League. There will be four more rounds of EA FC Mobile qualifiers before we move into the second stage of the competition, which leaves more than enough time for both old and new players to join and find their form.

EA FC 26: Wins on a budget

The latest edition of the decade-long series of football simulators, EA FC 26, was released on September 26. Despite the game being just a couple of days old, our top regional players performed like they’ve been playing it for years. The first qualifiers after the new game are always a very interesting sight because the players are not used to the game mechanics, which makes for interesting viewing. Strange player combinations, formations and the search of meta plays were a big part of the first round of EA FC qualifiers. For example, Gruby scored 90% of his goals with Claudia Pina, a card worth around 20 times less than the meta players Mbappe and Vinicius. Pina was the hero of the entire series and secured Gruby a win in the qualifier after a nail-biting grand final between him and Fico. Gruby won the first match of the series in extra time, before losing game two, taking the series to the final match. In the final match of the series, Pina scored 4 goals, for a 4:3 victory. This cemented Gruby’s good standing in the qualifiers with a budget sneak pick.

CS2: A great warmup

The heavyweight esports game is back in Season 15, and while we saw less teams than in some of the other games, the skill level was exceptional, as expected. In the end, the three best-performing teams made it through the qualifiers: Diamant, 0to100 and Toronto. Interestingly, Mana, a great team that is even ranked in the HLTV rankings, dropped out of the qualifiers after losing to DeltaXGripgel in Round 3. Sangrija, one of the better teams of the Weekly stage earlier this year, also didn’t perform as expected and was eliminated by 0to100 early in the competition.

Make sure to apply for the next round!

Of course, even the teams that did not perform well this round are more than welcome to apply for the next round of qualifiers. At A1AL, we pride ourselves on providing teams plenty of chances to bounce back and qualify for the next stage. We’ll be back very soon, as the next round of qualifiers is coming our way this weekend! Make sure to apply through the game hub and best of luck!
