Omerta: “A win feels good, but we still have a lot to learn and correct.”

The third Clash of League playday is scheduled for today (03.8), featuring the second-seeded regional representative, Omerta.

With a loss in the first round versus BIG, and a much-needed victory in Round 2, Omerta are now sitting comfortably in the middle of the leaderboard. A lot is going to change today. The Brawl Stars teams competing in the Clash of Leagues will play two matches each, and the aftermath will certainly show us which teams are most likely to advance to the final stages. Today, Omerta will clash versus the qualified side KMRGMR, as well as the Bulgarian team, Bulgarian Pros.

We talked with the Omerta players about the Clash of Leagues, their impressions, thoughts, and predictions about the league. Make sure to read the players’ answers below and be there to support the team today when the league starts.

What are your impressions and thoughts on the first two rounds of the league?

I think the concept of the tournament is really well made and challenging for teams to prove they are here for a reason. The first round was really hard due to the fact that we played against one of the best teams in the league. I think we could have played better against them and we will try to do so in the future rounds. In the second round, we had an easier opponent and we proved that we are a better team than them by winning 2-0 in sets. I think we played well but we still have a lot to learn and correct.

How was it, playing against such a prominent team as BIG?

It is really challenging when you are playing against one of the best teams in EU. They are such experienced and skilled players with lots of achievements and a big reputation. In matchups like that, you aren’t necessarily looking for a potential win but you study how those players are reacting in certain tough situations and trying to learn their strategy, it was a new experience that taught us a lot of things. Experiences like that can be really valuable, and I think we learned a lot from that.

Who do you think will be a harder opponent tomorrow, KMRGMR or Bulgarian Pros?

I think both teams are really good, Bulgarian pros are comfortable sitting at 2nd place and KMRGMR are just behind us on the leaderboard. KMRGMR really put up a great fight against BIG and showed their potential, but Bulgarian pros didn’t lose yet so both matches will be extremely hard but I think that KMRGMR will be a slightly harder team to beat.

Which teams do you think will advance to the final stage?

It’s anyone’s race, to be honest, but I think it’s still too early to predict anything because most of the teams in this group stage are almost equal in skill so it is really hard to predict which teams will prevail and which will not. Everyone has good chances to advance into to final stage and the only team that I’m almost certain that is advancing to the final stage is BIG.

papahellfans fall short to Omerta in the second round!

After suffering a defeat in their opening match, the Serbian team delivered in Round 2 and defeated the Belorussian squad papahellfans!

The second round of the Clash of Leagues confirmed BIG’s role as favorites in the group stage. Once again, the German squad had a convincing 2:0 win, this time against KMRGMR, and is now sitting comfortably on the very top of the leaderboard. BIG played versus one of the qualified teams for the league. Right next to BIG on the leaderboard are Bulgarian Pros. This trio who defeated papahellfans in Round 1, went against Crystal Gaming Red and scored a 2:1 win. Both BIG and Bulgarian pros have six points, the only difference between the teams being that BIG has yet to lose a set in the league.

Omerta stated that their matches after the first round were going to be a lot easier. And it seems that they were right. papahellfans were no match for our second regional team in the League. Bogdan & co. dominated papahellfans and are now standing firmly in fourth place. Just like last time, the last match was a duel between two qualified teams. FreeWin and OKA Gaming battled it out to end this amazing day of Brawl Stars. While FreeWin certainly gave their best, they were no match for OKA Gaming who bested them 2:0.

“We played against a team that is not as known on the European scene as BIG but in their region they are, they were 2nd in their league, they got a place in the group stage, and they are certainly not to be underestimated. It wasn’t easiest in the beginning of the match, as it is always hard to break the ice with that first win that we definitely need for our confidence and to continue competing in the Clash of Leagues if we want to reach that final stage. There was still a cramp in some games which is quite normal but after the win it is definitely easier to breathe and we got a certain dose of confidence to continue the competition. We have already looked at where we made mistakes in the match and how to correct them. In the next match, you can expect us in an even better edition.” – said the Omerta players after the match

The next round of the Clash of Leagues is set to start on the 3rd of August. In the meantime, take the time to (re)watch Omerta and the second playday:

Omerta: “BIG are too strong, we should have more chances in future matches.”

Clash of Leagues Day 1 is now comfortably behind us, with the favourites securing most of the wins in their opening matches.

BIG managed to overpower the regional team after only two modes. Omerta tried their best, but the German squad was eager to take the victory, and they did it. lule_andjelko, Bogdan, and Niko will look for their first victory elsewhere, while BIG are now a step closer to reaching the final stage of the tournament. Next up, Bulgarian Pros and Papahellfans clashed! The Bulgarian team which competes in the A1 Gaming League had an easy time against their opponents and defeated them 2-0.

The third game of the day was once again a sweep. Crystal Gaming Red faced OKA Gaming, one of the teams that qualified via the International Qualifier. OKA were powerless against CGR and joined Omerta and Papahellfans as the losers of the first Clash of Leagues playday. KMRGMR and FreeWin, two teams that qualified for the tournament along with OKA Gaming met each other on the very first day of the group stage. Both teams won a set, but in the end, KMRGMR was the team that reached number 2 first and secured their first win.

The second playday is set to be played out on the 30th of July. Make sure to follow us on social media and stay updated with any news concerning the Clash of Leagues.

We contacted the Omerta players after their match against BIG came to an end:

“We played against BIG who are one of the favourites not only for passing the groups, but for winning the whole event. Of course, BIG were the favourites in our match and we should have offered more resistance, especially during the Heist set where we simply didn’t leave our base because of their constant pressure. We didn’t leave the base and couldn’t do anything while attacking. During our defence, we held our own for a couple of minutes, but after that BIG took control of the game and defeated us.
In the first Hot Zone match, we had an idea to go really aggressive with Edgar, Buzz, and Bibi and to try to split them apart using constant pressure that these Brawlers offer with their abilities, but unfortunately, we totally missed our picks even though we knew that we were either going to guess the matchup or miss it. It was a high-risk, high-reward decision and we drew the short straw. In our second match, we had a good matchup but we made a couple of small mistakes that we shouldn’t make versus teams like BIG who exploited them and punished us severely. This defeat wasn’t hard on us because we knew that BIG are currently one of the best teams in the EMEA region and we have tried our best. Nevertheless, we shouldn’t be sad or disappointed because we played against the strongest opponent already and now we have matches against opponents that we think we can defeat. Our focus is on the next match, we already started with the preparations and we hope to have our first win in the second round!”

Clash of Leagues

Omerta set to begin their Clash of Leagues journey!

In the opening matches of Clash of League’s group stage, one of the teams that represent the region, Omerta, will face their first opponents.

After some of Noble Elite’s players were deemed ineligible to play due to not fulfilling the age requirement for the international Brawl Stars tournament, the two NE squads merged their rosters and will play the Clash of Leagues with only one team. Omerta were called in to replace the ineligible Noble Elite roster and they are supposed to start their journey today.

Their first opponents are BIG. The organization which features a majority-German roster is a force to be reckoned with and Omerta will have to show their A-game in order to beat the German powerhouse. Lars, NeeDeeN, and Eqwaak are a scary trio of talented Brawl Stars players that are set to reach the very final stages of the tournament. On the other side, Omerta have impressed everyone in the region in recent months, and with two high-quality teams set to battle it out in the first round of the groups, we are excited to begin this tournament.

Make sure to follow and support Omerta tonight at 6 o’clock:

This week in A1AL: Round 4 is concluding; LoL continues the playoffs!

Each game has two playdays left before the final stage of this A1 Adria League season begins. CS:GO, FIFA, and Brawl Stars will finish their fourth round, while League of Legends goes deeper into the Regional Playoffs stage!

FIFA21

Brawl Stars once again ended after only one day so we will start this week of A1AL with FIFA21. We have one FIFA match scheduled for this Friday. Tarik “amke2001” Novo and Armin “arminho0307” Hasanbegović are two players from the 2-1 and 1-2 SWISS pools, respectively, and they will clash this week in an interesting match that can change the outcome of the SWISS stage. In the event of an arminho0307 win, both players will remain in the SWISS stage with a 2-2 result and will fight in the last round of the groups. However, if amke2001 wins, arminho0307 will be eliminated from the season, while amke will join Miloš “brstimir” Majdevac and Filip “FIFAFICO” Babić in the playoffs.

CS:GO

Cobalt Esports eliminated Onlinerss last week and they are waiting for the other matches to finish before the fifth round starts. These matches are 4gloryPORTUGAL and Good GameMidnight. 4glory and PORTUGAL are two teams that have two wins each so far, and the winner of this duel will advance to the playoffs. In the other match, Good Game has two wins as well, but their opponents, Midnight, have outplayed only one team so far. Just like in FIFA’s only match, if Good Game wins, Midnight will be eliminated, and if Midnight upsets the Macedonians, both teams will be 2-2.

League of Legends

The first Regional Playoffs playday saw the eight qualified teams play out their first matches in the double-elimination bracket. This Saturday, Harmony are taking on Split Raiders and Mental Boomers will play versus Fiko Izdaja in the upper half of the bracket. Down in the losers’ bracket, Placeholder and Fantastic Esports will play the first elimination match of the Regional Playoffs. The second elimination match is between QSKE Gaming and the Macedonian side, Brotagonists1g.

This week in A1AL: Round 4 starts; League of Legends goes regional!

This week in A1 Adria League we will see the fourth rounds of Brawl Stars, FIFA21 and CS:GO while League of Legends will enter its Regional Playoffs stage!

Brawl Stars

Our regional Brawlers have had an amazing season so far. The third round was done in one playday, so last week we didn’t have any Brawl Stars action. The plan remains the same for the fourth round – all three matches of the round will be played this Thursday, while next week we will be taking another break from the arenas. Tora Gold and 09 Gang are the teams from the 2-1 and 1-2 pools, respectively, that will be clashing this time in the fourth round. Besides that match, we have one 2-1 match between Mayoi and Noble Elite Red and one 1-2 duel between Omerta and Lil Surprise.

FIFA21

Round 4 of FIFA will commence with a duel between Leon “Sardinho213” Šardi and Filip “FIFAFICO” Babić – two players that are now a part of the 2-1 pool and are fighting for a spot in the playoffs. When the winner of this match gets decided, we will watch one more match, but this time it will be a survival match. Esad “NKOS_esad1memic” Memić will take on Emir “Sulja” Suljović for a chance to stay in the League. While NKOS_esad1memic has the role of a favorite, Sulja has proven time and time again that he can upset the biggest names in the region.

CS:GO

Last Sunday, ONYX managed to qualify for the playoffs over 4glory who fell short of a win for the first time this season. 4glory will have a chance to fix their mistake this week when they are facing PORTUGAL in the 2-1 bracket. Besides this duel that is sure to raise some eyebrows, we will watch Cobalt Esports take on Onlinerss in the second duel of the day. While the winner of this second match will survive for the fifth round, the losing side will have to say its goodbyes to the League and join Fullshock as one of the eliminated teams.

League of Legends

Over the last couple of weeks, the League of Legends teams from Serbia, Macedonia, and Croatia have been playing in their respective National Playoffs stage to advance further in the League. Now, that the National Playoffs stage came to an end, the Regional Playoffs phase of this season’s LoL action can start. The bracket is already known and we have the four pairs that will start this double-elimination journey to the top. Harmony is taking on Fantastic Esports, Brotagonists1g will fight Mental Boomers and QSKE Gaming will have Fiko Izdaja as their opponent. The fourth match will see Split Raiders face Placeholder for a spot in the upper bracket semifinals.

This week in A1AL: Three titles are a step away from the next stage!

While Brawl Stars is done for the round, the remaining two titles in the SWISS round still have another playday to go before reaching Round 4 of this season’s group stage. League of Legends is a step away from the Regional Playoffs!

CS:GO

The second part of the third round will see the currently unbeaten teams, 4glory and ONYX, clash it out to see who will finish the group stage with a flawless 3-0 score. The reigning champions are facing difficulties as they recently parted ways with two key players in their roster, Filip “aVN” Belojica, and Petar “HOLMES” Dimitrijević. aVN proceeded to join his former rivals, 4glory, and HOLMES’s next step is still uncertain. Their match starts at 16h, this Sunday.

When the 2-0 duel comes to an end, it will be time for Good Game and Cobalt Esports to enter the server. Both teams suffered one loss and this round will change much in their approach to the League. The winner will be just one win away from the playoffs, while the losing side won’t get another chance if they lose again. The Macedonian squad is facing Lazar “Laza” Nikolić’s team at either 18 or 19 o’clock, depending on the length of the previous match.

CS:GO SWISS 3-2

FIFA21

While we will be skipping Brawl Stars this week because of all the matches being played last Thursday, FIFA21 will continue as usual with two derbies on the schedule. Firstly, Filip “FIFAFICO” Babić and Emir “Sulja” Suljović are going to play their match on the virtual stadiums of FIFA, and the better player will be put in the 2-1 bracket with Tarik “amke2001” Novo and Leon “Sardinho213” Šardi.

Armin “arminho0307” Hasanbegović will fight for his chance to stay in the League this week. His opponent will be Marko “klaic” Klaić, who is yet another player who hasn’t celebrated a win yet in this season of the league. While the winner will celebrate his survival in the League, the player who will fail to triumph in the match will have to leave the seventh A1 Adria League season.

FIFA SWISS 3-2

League of Legends

The National Playoffs stage for League of Legends is coming to an end this Saturday, as the teams are close to finishing their respective brackets. Macedonia, Serbia, and Croatia will all have their teams in the upcoming Regional Playoffs stage.  In the Macedonian bracket, Harmony is the leading team, while Brotagonists1g and Reborn Esports will meet in the lower bracket finals. QSKE, Placeholder and Mental Boomers are the three Serbian teams still in play, while in Croatia, Split Raiders, Fantastic Esports and Fiko Izdaja are leading the charge.

This week in A1AL: The break is over; it’s game time!

After we all took a week to relax and enjoy the holidays, it is time to begin the third SWISS round for Brawl Stars, CS:GO and FIFA21. League of Legends, in the meantime, is close to finishing the National Playoffs stage.

Brawl Stars

The beginning of the third round means that we will know the first playoffs participants when the round comes to an end. Currently, Noble Elite BLK and Mayoi are leading the standings, but their 2-0 duel will be played out in the second part of the round. This week, we will only be watching Omerta take on Tora Gold in hopes of reaching the 2-1 pool.

There should have been a second match played as well, but since QSKE Gaming were recently disqualified from the tournament, 09 Gang will get a default win in this round.

FIFA21

Miloš “brstimir” Majdevac and Tarik “amke2001” Novo will fight for the first spot in this season’s FIFA playoffs. Amke2001 successfully beat esad1memic in the second round despite the match being a nail-bitter until the very end. brstimir had an easier time with FIFAFICO, but this time, amke2001 is ready to put up a great fight against his opponent and make this match exciting until the last minute.

After these guys play it out, Sardinho213 and NKOS_esad1memic are next in line to show their abilities to the regional audience. The Season 5 player is looking to get back on track after suffering a loss to amke2001, and he will face Sardinho213 who is in form after winning versus arminho0307.

CS:GO

Midnight, PORTUGAL, Onlinerss, and Fullshock – four teams that will make the return of CS:GO after the pause. Midnight recently got a hard-fought victory against Onlinerss, and next week, they will have another hard challenge on their way to the playoffs – PORTUGAL.

Onlinerss and Fullshock haven’t had the best start of the season, and unfortunately, one of them will be leaving us after the third round concludes. The 0-2 match between these two teams will be played right after the previous’ match winner is declared.

CS:GO SWISS 3-1

League of Legends

League of Legends will continue its National Playoffs stage this Saturday. Reborn Esports and Harmony are currently the two Macedonian teams in the upper bracket. QSKE and Placeholder hold these two spots in the Serbian qualifiers, with two matches ready to be played out in the lower bracket before advancing further in the Playoffs. Last, but certainly not least, Split Raiders and Fantastic Esports will meet in the Croatian upper bracket final. BL Gaming are already in the third lower bracket round, and they are waiting from the winner of the duel between Fiko Izdaja and RainDrop.

This week in A1AL: No matches, enjoy the holidays!

Simple as that! In the previous week, we have received more than a few requests for teams asking to reschedule their matches due to either family holidays, FPL-C qualifiers, competitive tournaments and due to a large volume of proposals, of course – we had to approve them!

So, to cut things short, this week you won’t be able to enjoy the finest regional esports action and all matches will be postponed for next week. Whether you celebrate holidays or play games, use this opportunity to enjoy your time to the fullest and we’ll see you next week!

Stay safe and enjoy the holidays!

This week in A1AL: Second round is drawing to a close!

Two FIFA and Brawl Stars and three CS:GO matches remain until the end of the second SWISS round. The teams are slowly gaining the lead in the group stage and are fighting for their spot in the playoffs.

Brawl Stars

As always, the opening game for our A1 Adria League week is Brawl Stars. First up is the duel between Lil Surprise and Mayoi – a match that will decide who joins Noble Elite BLK in the 2-0 pool. Mayoi managed to get here with a win against Omerta, while Lil Surprise beat a weakened 09 Gang in the first round.

When the first duel concludes, Noble Elite Red and QSKE will enter the arena to fight for their first win. As QSKE Gaming forfeited their last match, this will be the first time we are seeing them in this season of the A1 Adria League. Noble Elite Red are still recovering from their defeat versus Tora Gold which sent them to the 0-1 pool. After this match, one of the teams will join 09 Gang in the 0-2 pool, while the other one will hold their spot in the middle of the standings.

Brawl Stars Round 2-2

FIFA

Friday, FIFA day! The only Slovenian player in this season, Leon “Sardinho213” Sardi will face Armin “Arminho0307” Hasanbegović in the first match. Arminho barely lost his match in the previous round and will be looking to fix his mistake versus Sardinho. Sardinho, on the other hand, was demolished by amke2001 6-1 which really isn’t a great start of the season. Though we are still early on and there are plenty of chances for the Slovenian FIFA player to redeem himself, his first being on Friday versus Arminho.

Marko “Klaic” Klaić and Emir “Sulja” Suljović – a clash between the new players. Each of them won one of the qualifying cups despite facing great competition from the whole region, but their start wasn’t the best and they are now looking to get their first victory. Sulja fell to brstimir and klaic wasn’t able to defeat FIFAFICO. After Friday ends, one of them will be playing in the 0-2 pool, while the second one will join FIFAFICO, esad1memic and the Sardinho/Arminho winner with 1-1.

FIFA Round 2-2

CS:GO

ONYX weren’t able to compete on Sunday so the match was rescheduled for the next playday. That means that we will be watching three great CS:GO matches on Sunday, with ONYX opening up the fourth playday at 14 o’clock. Their opponents will be PORTUGAL.

When that match concludes, Midnight will take on Onliners in our second BO3 of the day. Both teams are new to the League and haven’t met each other yet, which means that the match will be even more interesting than usual. To end the day, 4glory will face Good Game – a match between two of the favorites for this season of A1 Adria League.
